Korea Bamboo Museum Hosts Jeong Nanju Invitational Exhibition Through October 20

Capturing Images of Nature on Canvas
"A Sense of Rest as If on a Journey"

Korea Bamboo Museum Hosts Jeong Nanju Invitational Exhibition Through October 20 'There, There~' by Jeong Nanju.

The Korea Bamboo Museum announced on October 6 that it will host a solo exhibition by artist Jeong Nanju at the museum gallery in Changpyeong-myeon, Damyang-gun, through October 20.

Held under the theme "The Origin of Beauty, There," this exhibition invites artist Jeong Nanju in celebration of autumn and the Chuseok holiday, presenting more than 20 works to visitors coming to the museum during the fall travel season. Over the past decade, Jeong has lived in Yeonhwa Village, Changpyeong-myeon, capturing images of flowers, birds, trees, and houses-elements of nature-on her canvases.

Jeong expresses natural motifs such as birds and the wind in a free and bright composition, offering viewers a moment of respite as they recall the faint memory of "that place" from their own recollections. Her delicate use of color and rhythmic canvases evoke a sense of rest in nature for modern people weary from daily life.

Jeong holds a master's degree in Western Painting from Chosun University Graduate School and is currently active in the Korea Fine Arts Association, Gwangju-Jeonnam Women's Artists Association, Gwangju Fine Arts Association, and Gwangju Artists Association. In addition to mentoring students in Changpyeong-myeon, she has held more than 30 solo exhibitions and participated in over 320 group exhibitions, maintaining a prolific artistic career.

Jeong commented, "Through nature, I express the faintly remembered 'there'-a place where it feels like someone is always waiting. I hope visitors can feel a sense of rest, as if taking a brief journey away from their busy daily lives."

An official from Damyang-gun stated, "We will continue to do our best to establish the Korea Bamboo Museum as a cultural complex that introduces the culture and arts of Damyang by hosting a variety of exhibitions by different artists."

Meanwhile, the Korea Bamboo Museum is striving to introduce culture and the arts to local residents and visitors through general rentals and invitational exhibitions for local artists, as well as supporting the creative activities of various artists.
