On October 3, President Lee Jae-myung visited a child care facility to mark the Chuseok holiday and stated, "I will do my utmost to create a society where children can grow up bright and strong, regardless of their circumstances."
Spokesperson Kim Namjun announced in a written briefing that President Lee made these remarks during his visit to Gyemyeongwon, a child care facility located in Ganghwa County, Incheon.
President Lee was briefed by staff on the facility's operations and toured the accommodations and dining hall. He then met with children participating in a traditional toy-making activity and engaged in conversation with them. According to Spokesperson Kim, President Lee had a discussion about campaign pledges with a child who introduced themselves as the student council president.
Afterwards, President Lee moved to the nearby Ganghwa Traditional Market for lunch. At that time, a resident called out, "The APEC summit promotional video was great!" prompting laughter. President Lee had previously drawn attention for appearing as a parking attendant in the promotional video for the '2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit,' which was released on October 2.
