Outdoor Plaza of Maisan Masterpiece Hall
Jinan County in North Jeolla Province will hold a participatory night festival, "Welcome to Maisan, Starry Night of Wishes," on the outdoor plaza of the Maisan Masterpiece Hall from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on October 11.
According to the county on October 2, admission to the event is free. The festival will begin with a wish concert featuring jazz and musical performances, reaching its peak with the "Wish Light Parade," where participants will walk together through Maisan on an autumn evening, carrying wish lanterns they have made themselves.
Throughout the parade, participants can make wishes against the backdrop of Maisan's nightscape and create special memories with family, partners, and friends. The venue will feature a variety of experience booths for all ages to enjoy. Highlights include "Wish Lantern Making" and "Wish Stone Art," where people can craft their hopes by hand, as well as "Wish Tarot Reading," a lighthearted way to glimpse their fortune for the fall.
Notably, for the wish lantern making and tarot reading experiences, the participation fee will be reimbursed on-site with "Jinan Highland Happiness Gift Certificates," which can be used immediately at the flea market and food booths. This initiative aims to naturally connect the local economy with the enjoyment of the festival.
Pre-registered parade participants will receive Jinan County merchandise on-site, and those who upload certified photos taken during the Wish Light Parade to their personal social media accounts will have a chance to win prizes through a special event.
The event aims to capture the vibrant atmosphere and expand the excitement online by making it easy for everyone to participate. Commemorative gifts will be available in limited quantities and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis according to on-site guidance.
A county official stated, "We have prepared a special evening where music, light, and wishes come together at the most beautiful time of autumn in Maisan. We hope many people will join in comfortable attire, walk together, and support each other's wishes."
