Governor Jung emphasized, "Although Gijang County accounts for one-third of Busan’s area, the transportation infrastructure is underdeveloped, causing significant inconvenience for residents. We will ensure the establishment of KTX-Eum Gijang Station and the approval of the Jeonggwan Line preliminary feasibility study to improve transportation convenience for our 174,000 residents and to promote balanced regional development."

Since March 2024, Gijang County has carried out a total of 16 county-wide campaigns to attract the KTX-Eum Gijang Station stop. This year, the county has signed business agreements with organizations such as the Gijang County branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association, the Gijang County Small Business Association, the Busan-Gyeongnam Headquarters of Korea Railroad Corporation, and Skyline Luge Busan to expand benefits for Gijang Station users.

In addition, to secure the approval of the preliminary feasibility study for the Jeonggwan Line, the county is actively promoting the necessity and justification of the project by conducting signature campaigns, holding county-wide rallies, and continuously visiting related organizations such as the National Assembly, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Busan Metropolitan City.
