Commendations for Senior Citizens Day and Gender Equality Meritorious Persons
At the regular October assembly held on the 1st in the Myeonangjeong Room of the Damyang County Office, awards were presented for the 29th Senior Citizens' Day and for contributors to gender equality in 2025. Provided by Damyang County
On October 1, Damyang County in South Jeolla Province, led by County Governor Jeong Cheolwon, held the 'October Regular Assembly' at the Myeonangjeong Room of the county office, attended by over 160 public officials. During the assembly, commendations were also awarded for the 29th Senior Citizens Day and the 2025 Gender Equality Meritorious Persons.
Governor Jeong Cheolwon expressed his gratitude to the public officials for their dedication and hard work in advancing various local initiatives, including community dialogues and the Goseo Grape Festival.
Governor Jeong especially emphasized, "With the Chuseok holiday approaching, please establish comprehensive measures so that returning visitors to their hometown of Damyang can enjoy a comfortable and safe holiday. Do your utmost to operate the integrated situation room during the holiday, including sanitation measures and the establishment of an emergency medical system."
He further requested, "Let us reaffirm our appreciation for the elderly who have devoted themselves to the development of our community. Please participate in the village Senior Citizens Day celebrations to express respect and courtesy, and pay special attention to preventing food poisoning."
Additionally, with the main harvest season underway, he urged proactive efforts to prevent agricultural machinery accidents, encourage farmers to enroll in agricultural disaster insurance, and remain vigilant against tick-borne infectious diseases during outdoor activities. He also called for continued commitment to building a fair and transparent Damyang that earns the trust of its residents.
Meanwhile, following the regular assembly, a fire drill was conducted to enhance public officials' fire response capabilities and raise safety awareness.
