Providing Customized Individual and Group Counseling for Teachers
The Edu Healing Center, which operates a one-stop system that provides customized individual and group counseling for teachers and connects legal and institutional support such as professional lawyer consultations and accompaniment, as well as teacher protection mutual aid in cases of educational activity infringement, has relocated and reopened.
On September 30, the Daejeon Office of Education held an opening ceremony for the Edu Healing Center, a comprehensive support center for the mental well-being of the educational community, with city council members, education office officials, and representatives of students, teachers, and parents in attendance, aiming to foster a happier educational environment in Daejeon.
Since its official opening in 2016, the center has been located at the Daejeon Education Information Institute, providing psychological counseling and healing programs for faculty and parents, as well as growth training, to support the educational community in focusing on educational activities with peace of mind.
Now relocated to the teachers’ building at Daejeon Galma Elementary School, the center occupies an independent space with a total floor area of 2,401 square meters over three floors, featuring 12 counseling rooms, training rooms, meeting rooms, and healing spaces, establishing a more specialized and systematic foundation for supporting mental well-being.
The center promotes a variety of programs for the prevention of educational activity infringement and personal growth, such as the Teacher Growth Class So-Jung-Hae, Healing Doctor Concert, and Mind Rest Healing Camp, contributing to the spread of a school culture based on mutual respect.
With the opening of the new center, specialized counseling and training spaces have been newly established, making it possible to provide more in-depth and systematic psychological healing and internal growth support.
The center is expected to serve as a hub for comprehensively caring for the mental health of the entire educational community and to contribute to creating a happy school culture where respect and trust thrive.
Superintendent Seol Dongho stated, "The opening of the Edu Healing Center marks a new beginning as a reliable partner responsible for the mental well-being of the educational community," adding, "We will continue to implement various policies to establish a school culture of respect and consideration, based on communication, cooperation, and harmony."
