Yeongdeok County Launches Comprehensive Chuseok Holiday Plan Covering Six Key Areas

Yeongdeok County in North Gyeongsang Province has established a comprehensive plan to ensure that both returning visitors and residents can enjoy a safe and comfortable Chuseok holiday. The plan will be implemented over a seven-day period from October 3 to October 9.

This comprehensive plan is divided into six areas: disaster and infectious disease prevention, alleviating inconveniences in daily life for residents, environmental maintenance, price stabilization, establishment of an emergency medical system, and strengthening public service discipline.

First, for safety measures, the county will conduct pre-inspections of disaster-prone facilities and major tourist attractions. Special transportation response teams will be operated for returning visitors and tourists, a rotating duty system for LPG gas supply will be implemented by region, and a reporting center for inconveniences related to gas supply will be set up.

In the area of price stabilization, a comprehensive situation room for price measures will be operated to closely monitor the prices of agricultural, livestock, and marine products as well as Chuseok holiday essentials. Violations such as price gouging and improper country-of-origin labeling will be strictly enforced.

For emergency medical services, a 24-hour treatment system will be established. Information on hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies open during the Chuseok holiday will be provided through the county website and the emergency medical portal. Support and visits for vulnerable groups, including low-income households and veterans, will be strengthened to foster a warm holiday atmosphere.

For environmental maintenance, the county will focus on cleaning major roads and tourist attractions before Chuseok. Mobile waste collection teams will be operated during the holiday period to prevent any gaps in garbage collection and maintain a pleasant living environment.

To implement this comprehensive plan, Yeongdeok County will operate ten situation response teams during the period. A total of 175 personnel will be on emergency duty, including ten staff for the comprehensive situation room, six for on-call duty, and nine assigned to township and town offices.

In particular, Yeongdeok County will operate the rapid response team "On the Move! Deogi Captain" to support wildfire victims in North Gyeongsang Province during the holiday, aiming to minimize inconveniences for residents in affected areas and strengthen on-site, community-focused administration.

County Governor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "As this year's Chuseok holiday is longer than usual, we will mobilize all available resources to ensure there are no gaps in safety and convenience. We will do our utmost so that all residents and visitors can trust Yeongdeok's administrative capabilities and enjoy a safe and happy holiday."
