The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Art Korea Lab, under the Arts Management Support Center, will present three large-scale 3D anamorphic media art pieces themed around Jung-gu, Seoul, on the LED media wall installed on the exterior of Shinsegae Department Store in Myeong-dong from October 1 to November 30.

This exhibition was planned as part of a joint project within the "Super Testbed" program, an art-technology convergence support initiative operated by Art Korea Lab. Emerging artists who received comprehensive support-from technical education to creative experimentation and sharing of results-will share their artistic experiences with the public through this massive platform in the heart of Seoul.

Seven emerging artists participated in this project, collaboratively producing three 3D anamorphic media art works themed on Namsan, Myeong-dong, and Admiral Yi Sun-sin. By utilizing the core keywords of Jung-gu, Seoul, the works dynamically capture the district’s past and present, offering a unique visual experience where space, art, and technology intersect.

First, "Namsan Breeze," a collaboration by Do Jaein, Lee Ppuri, and Ha Jisoo, uses the themes of "breath" and "light" to convey energies of healing and recovery, inspired by the long history and vitality of the Namsan Jarak Forest Trail. "DaDa Myeongdong," by Ahn Jonghun and Oh Jiyeon, visualizes the history, culture, and the constant flow of people in Myeong-dong as energies of coexistence and fusion. "Immortal Wave," a collaboration between Myung Jinyoung and Lee Yunseo, embodies Admiral Yi Sun-sin’s indomitable spirit and will through thousands of arrows and rough waves, while also highlighting Jung-gu’s historical significance as his birthplace.

The works will be available for public viewing on the Shinsegae Square media wall on the exterior of Shinsegae Department Store for two months, from October 1 to November 30.

Kim Jangho, CEO of the Arts Management Support Center, stated, "It is meaningful to reinterpret the region’s history and identity through art, and to demonstrate the expansive possibilities of art-technology convergence. We hope to see continued experimentation where citizens, spaces, art, and technology come together."

Meanwhile, Art Korea Lab under the Arts Management Support Center is discovering and supporting a total of 57 emerging convergence artists this year through the "Super Testbed" program. "Labdeuri," an event that shares the creative process with the public, will be held from December 4 to 6 at Art Korea Lab in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The event will showcase the various experimental processes of participating artists over the past six months.
