Successful Completion of Third Overseas Client Project
Construction Period Shortened by One Month Using Proprietary Earth Retaining and Modular Piping Technologies
Global Data Center Market Expected to Grow to 700 Billion Dollars by 2030
"Experience from Land Acquisition to Commissioning... Actively Pursuing Expansion of Overseas Orders"
DL E&C announced on September 29 that it has recently completed the 'Gasan Data Center,' located in Gasan-dong, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul. This marks the company’s third data center project for overseas clients. DL E&C plans to actively expand its orders for related projects in response to the rapidly growing global digital industry demand.
This project was carried out by establishing a joint venture between DL E&C’s parent company, Daelim, and DCI Data Centers of Australia. DL E&C began construction in June 2023 and completed the data center, which spans from one basement level to eight above-ground floors and has a total floor area of 173,070 square meters, in approximately one year and three months. The facility is equipped with a large-scale power supply system, featuring a 20 MW power receiving capacity and a 12.9 MW IT load.
DL E&C was responsible not only for construction but also for 'commissioning' work, which includes the installation of internal systems and equipment as well as performance verification through test operation. In particular, the company applied its proprietary patented construction methods, such as earth retaining walls and steel frames, along with new technologies like modular rooftop piping, which shortened the construction period by about one month compared to the original plan.
To ensure stable operation of the high-power infrastructure, DL E&C also completed vibration and disaster prevention facilities and cooling systems using its own technologies. In April, DL E&C began construction on its fourth project, the 'Gimpo Data Center.'
According to market research firms, the global data center market is expected to more than double to approximately 600 to 700 billion dollars by 2030. In particular, domestic demand from overseas clients is also on the rise.
A DL E&C representative stated, "We have experience in every stage, from land acquisition and permitting to construction, equipment procurement and installation, and test operation," adding, "Based on our capabilities to meet the needs of global companies, we plan to actively pursue more overseas orders."
