Kazakhstani Men in Their 20s Clash in Parking Lot
Police Plan to Transfer Suspects to Immigration Authorities After Investigation

Kazakhstani men illegally residing in Eumseong County, Chungbuk, were arrested by the police for committing a group assault. Some of them have been detained, and the remaining individuals involved are expected to be charged soon.

According to Yonhap News on September 28, the Eumseong Police Station in Chungbuk announced that it had detained two men in their 20s, including individual A, on charges of violating the Act on the Punishment of Violent Acts, and plans to conduct a non-custodial investigation into two others, including individual B, on the same charges.

The incident occurred at around 12:07 a.m. on September 21 in the ground parking lot of a multi-family residence in Saenggeuk-myeon, Eumseong County. According to the police, A and his group were passing near the residence where B and his acquaintances, with whom they had a strained relationship, were living. An argument broke out, which escalated into a confrontation between the two groups.

At the scene, B's group intensified the clash by bringing out metal blunt objects such as a hammer and an iron pipe. In contrast, A and his group fought back with their bare fists. During the altercation, B reportedly fell and suffered a serious head injury after hitting his head.

Police investigations revealed that all individuals involved in the incident were illegal residents staying in the country without valid visas.

After the incident, A and others who had fled were tracked down and arrested by the police and have since been detained. Three members of A's group who were present at the scene but did not directly participate in the assault were handed over to immigration authorities.

The police are currently investigating B and his group, and once the investigation is complete, they also plan to transfer custody of these individuals to immigration authorities.
