According to the city, Taechudan Gam is an early-ripening variety with a crisp texture similar to that of a pear, a thin skin, and no astringency, making it possible to eat the fruit with the skin on. It is also harvested earlier than regular sweet persimmons.

Rich in vitamins A and C as well as tannins, it is known to be effective for fatigue recovery and boosting immunity.

Each year, sweet persimmons from Jinyeong, Gimhae are exported to more than 10 countries, including Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia. In 2024 alone, the total export volume reached 1,230 tons, valued at 2.27 million US dollars.

A city official stated, "Starting with this first shipment, we plan to expand exports to countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia. By producing high-quality sweet persimmons and expanding exports, we aim to increase local farmers' incomes and contribute to the revitalization of agricultural exports."
