Wando County in South Jeolla Province announced that it held the "2025 Wando County Youth Day" event on the 24th at the Wando County Life Culture Center, with over 300 youths and residents in attendance.

The event was organized to reflect the voices of young people in county administration and to broaden empathy and participation in youth policies. During the commemorative ceremony, County Governor Shin Woochul delivered a congratulatory address in person. The ceremony also featured awards for outstanding young individuals, the screening of a youth message video, and various youth performances.

In particular, an interview video titled "We Are Wando Youth," featuring direct participation from young people, was screened and received an enthusiastic response. The celebratory performances began with a stage by "Double M," the Wando High School dance club, followed by busking by young artists and a congratulatory performance by singer Wonstein, further energizing the atmosphere.

Outside the venue, booths promoting the Jeonnam-style youth community project were set up, along with psychological counseling, upcycling experiences, goods exhibitions and sales, and food booths operated by youth businesses and Jangbogo Ujang, attracting many visitors.

Woo Hugun, a young participant in the event, said, "I felt proud that my story could become part of policy," and added, "Both the performances and the hands-on experiences were meaningful. I hope there will be more opportunities in the future where young people can take center stage."

County Governor Shin Woochul stated, "This event, led by the active participation of young people, has become a catalyst for revitalizing the region," and added, "We will continue to work together to make Wando a place where young people want to live."

The county plans to operate customized programs for residents and young people at the Youth Center Wansaeng in October and at the Nosobo Daeoulrim Multipurpose Culture Center in November.
