Ulsan City Wins Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award for 'Ulsan Smart Map'

Proving Leadership in Urban Innovation Based on Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Ulsan City will receive the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award at the '2025 K-GEO Festa' hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

Celebrating its 17th year, the 'K-GEO Festa' is the largest domestic spatial information technology exchange expo, held from September 24 to 26 at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. The event showcases the latest spatial information technologies and the results of convergence across various industries.

The city earned this honor as its 'Ulsan Smart Map,' developed through last year's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport-led 'Digital Twin National Pilot Project,' was selected as an outstanding project in the '2024 Local Government Spatial Information Implementation Performance.'

'Ulsan Smart Map' is a public information search model that combines generative artificial intelligence (AI) with spatial information, providing daily life services such as customized tourism, job information, disaster shelters, and information on companies in industrial complexes.

Currently, citizens can easily access these services through the Ulsan City website.

An official from Ulsan City stated, "This award is a meaningful achievement, as it recognizes our innovative administrative service model that integrates digital twin technology and artificial intelligence (AI) on a national level. We will continue to expand intelligent administrative services that citizens can truly experience."
