"NIS Also Reports 'Nothing Confirmed'"
"More Likely to Be Kim Juae's Younger Brother Than Her Older Brother"
Former People Power Party lawmaker Tae Yongho, who previously served as a minister at the North Korean embassy in London and is well-versed in North Korean affairs, dismissed the rumors about Kim Jong Un's son studying abroad, stating, "I have not heard anything about this at all."
On September 24, Tae Yongho appeared on Channel A Radio's "Political Signal" and said, "Park Jie-won, a Democratic Party lawmaker and former director of the National Intelligence Service, has repeatedly claimed that the successor is not Kim Ju-ae but a son studying abroad. However, based on what I have confirmed through my contacts, this has proven to be completely untrue."
He further explained that if Kim Jong Un's son were actually studying abroad, he would be attending an international school, and as a prince, he would have special security and an entourage. In such a case, it would be impossible to avoid detection by our intelligence authorities and the intelligence networks of the host country.
However, Tae Yongho did not deny the existence of Kim Jong Un's son. He said, "The National Intelligence Service has also reported that 'nothing has appeared on our radar yet,' so the credibility of the rumor about the eldest son studying abroad is low." He added, "According to what I have learned, there are now reports in North Korea that 'Kim Ju-ae has a younger brother.' If there is a son, it is more likely that he is Kim Ju-ae's younger brother rather than her older brother."
