Yeosu City in South Jeolla Province announced on the 24th that it actively promoted the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo and other initiatives by participating in the "2025 Regional Economy Innovation Expo" held from the 18th to the 20th at Exhibition Hall 2 of the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC).

This "Regional Economy Innovation Expo" is co-hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Local Public Enterprises Evaluation Institute, and The Korea Times. Local governments from across the country participate to share outstanding job policies and achievements in revitalizing the regional economy. The event has been held annually since 2018, and this year, 80 organizations operated a total of 184 booths.

At this year's event, Yeosu City ran a joint promotional booth together with seven other cities and counties from South Jeolla Province, including Gwangyang City, as well as three institutions such as the South Jeolla Province Small and Medium Business Job Economy Promotion Agency.

The promotional booth was centered around the theme of the "2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo," attracting visitors' attention by offering a YouTube subscription event for the expo and distributing promotional items on site.

In addition, a promotional video was screened to support the bid to host the 33rd United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP33) in the southern coastal region of South Korea, scheduled for the Asia-Pacific region in 2028. Alongside this, campaigns were conducted to encourage signatures, promote Yeosu tourism, and raise awareness of the Hometown Love Donation Program.

A city official stated, "As this event brings together local governments from across the country, it was an opportunity to benchmark outstanding initiatives from other cities and counties, as well as actively promote Yeosu's key agendas."
