Gijang County, Busan Holds Policy Consultation Meeting with People Power Party

Close Cooperation for Securing National and Municipal Funding
and Addressing Local Issues

Gijang County (Mayor Jung Jongbok) held the "2025 1st Gijang County-People Power Party Policy Consultation Meeting" at 3 p.m. on September 23 at Gijang County Office.


The meeting was attended by Jung Jongbok, Mayor of Gijang County, 17 senior county officials, Jung Dongman, member of the National Assembly, Park Hongbok, Chairman of the Gijang County Council, and all county council members affiliated with the People Power Party.

During the meeting, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues aimed at improving the quality of life for residents and ensuring the sustainable development of Gijang County, while seeking close cooperation measures.


Mayor Jung Jongbok explained projects supported by national and municipal funds, as well as major pending issues, and requested full support from the party to secure these funds and ensure smooth implementation.


Key agenda items included the Gijang Skywalk construction project, the Banggok District natural disaster risk improvement project, the Southern Region wide-area tourism development project, and the Ilgwang New Town bypass road construction project. In addition, collaboration was requested to secure sufficient municipal funding for the creation of a sports park in Gijang-eup, the construction of a road between Daebyeon and Jukseong Intersections, and the plan to develop waterfront spaces along local rivers in Gijang-eup, all aimed at expanding cultural facilities and improving transportation networks.


Other topics included a proposal to revise the implementation guidelines for support projects in areas surrounding power plants, the construction of a comprehensive stadium in Ilgwang Recreation Area, and the establishment of a new comprehensive social welfare center in Jeonggwan, along with in-depth discussions on long-standing resident demands and major current issues.


Mayor Jung Jongbok stated, "Organic cooperation between the party and the administration is essential to achieve our shared goals of developing Gijang and ensuring the happiness of our residents," and added, "I earnestly request active support so that the national and municipal projects and local issues discussed today can proceed without any setbacks."


National Assembly member Jung Dongman said, "We will spare no effort to provide active support together with city and county council members so that the county's key initiatives can be successfully completed," and added, "We will work together to create policies that meet the expectations of our residents."
