A man in his 30s, who was the boyfriend of the victim, and an internet broadcast BJ in his 40s have been arrested and indicted after giving a woman alcohol mixed with sleeping pills at a pension, sexually assaulting her, and filming the incident.
On September 23, the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office's Women and Children Crime Investigation Division (headed by Chief Prosecutor Son Myeongji) announced that two individuals, including Mr. A, had been arrested and indicted on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (aggravated rape) and violating the same act (filming using a camera, etc.).
Mr. A and the other suspect are accused of sexually assaulting Ms. B and filming the act on a mobile phone at a pension in Jebudo, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, on August 27.
It is reported that they invited Ms. B to the pension under the pretense of doing an internet broadcast together.
The police are still investigating whether footage of the crime was streamed online.
The prosecution stated, "Through thorough analysis of evidence, including recorded phone calls between the suspects, and additional investigation, we have clearly established their collusion and other charges," adding, "We will ensure that they receive strict punishment commensurate with their crimes."
