and Citizen Participation Gallery

Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwangdeok) announced on the 22nd that it had created and officially unveiled the 'Dasan Station Brand Theme Station' themed around Dasan Jeong Yak-yong at Dasan Station on Line 8 on the 20th.

Namyangju City Opens Brand Theme Station: "Encountering Dasan at Dasan Station" Joo Gwangdeok, mayor of Namyangju City, officially unveiled the 'Dasan Station Brand Theme Station' themed around Dasan Jeong Yak-yong at Dasan Station on Line 8 on the 20th. Provided by Namyangju City

This themed station was established along a 40-meter underground passage toward Exit 6 of Dasan Station. The city aimed to embody its urban brand identity as the 'City of Jeong Yak-yong, Namyangju' in a modern way, enabling citizens and visitors to naturally experience the region's history and culture.

During the event, Mayor Joo Gwangdeok toured the site himself, visiting the Dasan Station theme space and the citizen participation gallery.

The theme station consists of three sections: an introduction to Jeong Yak-yong, a Jeong Yak-yong brand map section, and a citizen participation gallery. The introduction section features a three-dimensional representation of the word 'Dasan,' from which Dasan-dong derives its name, along with a portrait image. The brand map section visualizes key brand concepts by arranging Jeong Yak-yong's writings and inventions in the form of a bookshelf.

The citizen participation gallery exhibits 'Dasan Munjado' (created by artist Shin Mihyang), which highlights Jeong Yak-yong's achievements, as well as art upcycling works made by students from discarded toys. The pieces themed around 'Jeong Yak-yong' and the 'Geojunggi' were completed by fourth graders at Dasan Hangang Elementary School and students who participated in the unveiling ceremony of the Jeong Yak-yong symbol in June, respectively.

Mayor Joo Gwangdeok stated, "As we have created a themed station befitting the name Dasan Station, I hope it will become a historical and cultural platform where citizens and visitors can easily encounter the spirit of Jeong Yak-yong. The city will continue to expand Dasan brand spaces throughout Namyangju in the future."
