Cheongsong County Focuses on Recovery and Revitalization to Restore Its Green and Vibrant Community After Wildfire Damage

2026 Key County Government Work Briefing Session to Be Held

Cheongsong County, North Gyeongsang Province, will hold the 2026 Key County Government Work Briefing Session in the small conference room of the county office for three days from September 22 to 24.


The briefing session, presided over by County Governor Yoon Kyunghee, will review the achievements made so far in pursuit of the eighth popularly elected administration’s goal of “One Cheongsong, Leap Beyond!” It will also examine the plans and expected effectiveness of key initiatives, major projects, and campaign pledges aimed at overcoming wildfire damage and restoring Cheongsong County to a greener, more vibrant community.


Key projects for 2026 include: operating the Golden Apple Research Complex; providing sapling subsidies for the establishment of flat-type Cheongsong apple orchards; distributing advanced cultivation technologies to maintain Cheongsong’s reputation as Korea’s leading apple-producing region and to increase agricultural income; and promoting smart house cultivation of Cheongsong apples. To boost tourism and attract young residents, the county will pursue the construction of a 54-hole public park golf course in Pacheon-myeon, the development of the Cheongsong Forest Leisure and Recreation Complex, the creation of a Cheongsong Baekja tourism hub, the establishment of unique accommodation facilities in the Gyeongbuk style, and the construction of public rental housing in Jinbo-myeon. For rapid recovery from wildfire damage and revitalization of the region, projects include the establishment of village infrastructure in wildfire-affected areas, the creation of a cultural and welfare hub in Mokgye Village, comprehensive flood risk management in Cheongsong-eup and Jinbo-myeon, and a special regeneration project for the wildfire-affected area in Bugok, Cheongsong.


Governor Yoon stated, “We will focus all our capabilities on restoring the green landscape of Cheongsong County, known as the ‘Oxygen Caf?,’ and making it a safer and more livable place than before, to ensure the happiness of our residents in their daily lives.”


Cheongsong County plans to incorporate the outcomes of this briefing session into the detailed work plans of each department and will thoroughly manage the progress of key initiatives as a foundation for opening a new era of the ‘Oxygen Caf? Cheongsong County’ through overcoming wildfire damage.
