Recruiting Student Participants
Applications Accepted Until the 23rd
Wanju County in North Jeolla Province will operate the "Wanju County Future Talent Physical AI Education" program from next month through November and is now recruiting student participants.
The Future Talent Physical AI Education program, part of the 2025 Education Advancement Special Zone Project, is designed to enhance elementary students' future skills through creative experiential learning that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) and coding.
This program uses AI self-driving cars (Altino) to allow elementary school students to directly learn and practice the principles of AI systems and sensor control coding.
The classes will be held every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at designated Wanju Hakdang locations operated by the Wanju County Talent Development Foundation in Samnye-eup, Iseo-myeon, Gosan-myeon, and Gui-myeon.
The program is open to elementary school students residing in Wanju County, with each class consisting of approximately 10 to 15 students. The curriculum consists of four sessions: understanding AI self-driving car systems and controlling rear-wheel motors; coding for steering and sound sensors; coding for light and distance sensors and practicing reverse parking; and comprehensive self-driving coding practice, all structured as step-by-step experiential learning.
Applications will be accepted until the 23rd. Required documents include the program application form and a copy of the resident registration. Submissions can be made via email, fax, or by visiting the Talent Development Foundation in person.
County Governor Yoo Heetae stated, "We have prepared this program to help Wanju County take a leap forward as a physical AI demonstration city," adding, "It will be an opportunity for children to learn AI and coding technology easily and enjoyably, and to develop key competencies for the future society."
