Catch "Gangwon" and "Special One" at the Mureungje Festival
Stay Healthy While Enjoying the Event, September 19-21
Donghae City in Gangwon Province announced on September 18 that it will operate the non-face-to-face walking program "Catch Gangwon & Special Ones!" Challenge from September 19 to 21 for three days, in celebration of the 38th Mureungje Festival. The program aims to promote citizens' health and encourage a walking culture.
This challenge is a non-face-to-face walking event linked to the local festival, open to all citizens for free participation. A unique feature is the integration of a character-catching game element into the walking activity, adding fun and excitement.
Participants can walk anywhere throughout Donghae City, while the character-catching event will take place in the area around the Donghae Wellbeing Leisure Sports Town, the main venue of the Mureungje Festival.
During the festival, participants need to accumulate a total of 15,000 mileage points through walking or character-catching activities. One mileage point is earned per step, with an additional 100 points for catching the "Gangwon" character and 200 points for catching the "Special One" character. However, the mileage that can be earned through character-catching is limited to a maximum of 2,000 points per day.
Among those who achieve the goal, 100 participants will be selected by lottery to receive a NongHyup mobile voucher worth 3,000 won.
Kim Hyejeong, Head of Health Policy at Donghae City Health Center, said, "We have prepared this walking challenge so that citizens visiting the Mureungje Festival, held under the theme 'United Donghae, Echoes of Hope,' can enjoy both health and fun. As this is a great opportunity to take care of your health and receive gifts by using the mobile walking app, we hope many citizens will participate."
