Chuncheon City in Gangwon Province, which was selected for the Urban Regeneration Innovation District competition, held a meeting on September 17 with residents and VFX companies to share future plans and is enhancing project execution through prompt communication.

On this day, Mayor Yook Donghan met consecutively with a VFX company and residents of Geunhwa and Soyang-dong to explain future plans and listen to feedback from the field.
Chuncheon City plans to attract advanced video industries, including VFX (visual effects), to the Urban Regeneration Innovation District as a new growth engine. On the afternoon of September 17, Mayor Yook Donghan held a meeting in the city hall reception room with the largest VFX companies in Korea, including M83, Digital Idea, Giantstep, Motorhead, Newclux, Post Creative Party, and Acryl.
During the meeting, the Urban Regeneration Innovation District plan was shared, and the companies provided practical advice and suggestions necessary for building the VFX industry ecosystem.
Mayor Yook Donghan stated, "Based on a cooperative network with these companies, we will establish a hub for the VFX industry at Camp Page."

Additionally, at a resident meeting held in the morning at the Geunhwa and Soyang-dong Administrative Welfare Center conference room, the city explained the procedures and future schedule for promoting the Urban Regeneration Innovation District and listened to residents' opinions.
Mayor Yook Donghan said, "It is now time for the city to respond to the residents who have waited for more than half a century," adding, "We will share the achievements of the Camp Page development with the residents and revitalize the entire original downtown."
The city plans to strengthen its network of cooperation with citizens, local universities, experts, and companies throughout the process of establishing detailed implementation plans, starting with these meetings with residents and companies.

Meanwhile, Chuncheon City secured 25 billion won in national funding over five years after being selected on September 5 for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Urban Regeneration Innovation District project targeting part of the Camp Page site (127,000 square meters). On September 16, the city completed an application for a 500 million won government subsidy. The city will begin the process of establishing a REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) within this year and will proceed with full-scale administrative procedures starting next year.
