Yangsan City to Begin Free Influenza Vaccinations on the 22nd

Follow the Designated Start Dates for Each Eligible Group
Timely Vaccination to Prepare for the Winter Influenza Season

Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province will provide free influenza vaccinations from September 22, 2025, to April 30, 2026.

This vaccination program is being implemented in phases to prepare for the upcoming winter influenza season, targeting children aged 6 months to 13 years, pregnant women, and seniors aged 65 and older who are at higher risk of severe illness if infected. In particular, seniors aged 65 and older can receive the influenza vaccine and the COVID-19 vaccine at the same time.

Eligible recipients for the national free vaccination program include: children aged 6 months to under 9 years receiving their first-ever two-dose vaccination starting September 22; children aged 13 and under and pregnant women starting September 29; seniors aged 75 and older starting October 15; seniors aged 70 to 74 starting October 20; and seniors aged 65 and older starting October 22. Vaccinations will be available until the program ends on April 30, 2026.

The national vaccination program is available at any of the 156 designated medical institutions in the city, regardless of the recipient's registered address, so vaccinations can be received according to the designated start date.

Yangsan City’s own free vaccination program is available to vulnerable residents aged 14 to 64 who are basic livelihood security recipients, individuals with severe disabilities, national merit recipients, poultry workers, and children aged 14 to 18 from families with two or more children. This program will begin on October 27 and continue until vaccines run out. Vaccinations will be available at Yangsan City Health Center, Ungsang Health Center, Wondong Health Branch (Wednesdays and Thursdays), and Hwaje and Seonri Health Clinics.

An official from the Yangsan City Health Center stated, "Vaccination is highly effective in reducing the risk of severe complications, such as hospitalization and death caused by infectious diseases. We strongly recommend getting vaccinated in October or November to prepare for this winter’s influenza season. In particular, we hope that seniors aged 65 and older will strengthen their immunity by receiving both the influenza and COVID-19 vaccines at the same time."
