Korea Development Bank announced that its new chairman, Park Sangjin, held an inauguration ceremony at the bank's headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 15th and officially began his duties.

As the first chairman to be promoted from within the organization, Park emphasized in his inaugural address that "the importance of finance as a policy tool to support the real economy and foster future growth industries is being increasingly highlighted, and the role of Korea Development Bank as a leading policy financial institution is expanding."

He stressed, "All of Korea Development Bank's capabilities must be focused on supporting advanced strategic industries, transitioning Korea's finance toward productive finance, fostering small and venture businesses for inclusive growth, improving the structure of regional industries, enhancing productivity in traditional industries, and supporting the restructuring of industrial sectors."

He also urged employees to "approach your work with a sense of ownership, maintain integrity, and communicate openly with an open mind."

Separately from his inaugural address, Korea Development Bank explained that in a message sent to employees, Park expressed his intention to listen to employees' voices and communicate openly, offering words of comfort for the difficulties staff experienced during the recent discussions and process regarding the relocation of the headquarters.
