Seocho District in Seoul (District Mayor Jeon Seongsu) announced on the 14th that it received the 'Communication Award' in the local government category at the '8th Youth-Friendly Legislative Award', hosted by the Youth and Future Association under the National Assembly Secretariat, on the 13th.

The Youth-Friendly Legislative Award recognizes local governments for their contributions to improving the quality of life for young people. Winners are selected based on the youth-friendly index, which evaluates policies, legislation, and communication. Major evaluation criteria include the operation of youth participation organizations, youth support programs, and the hosting and participation in youth events.
Seocho District has made various efforts to reflect the opinions of young people in its policies, guided by the vision of "Seocho, a Youthful City Where Young People Stay and Thrive."
In particular, Seocho District has received high praise for its unique youth initiatives aimed at strengthening youth participation and communication. These include revitalizing the youth network, operating the Youth Popcorn (Pop-up Consortium) and Seoripul Youth Crew, establishing and managing the Seocho Youth Center, running the Youth Seoripul Reporter Group and SNS Supporters, and launching the Seocho Marvel Hero Supporters.
Jeon Seongsu, Mayor of Seocho District, stated, "This award is the result of continuously communicating with young people and enabling them to directly participate and voice their opinions in the policy-making process. Moving forward, we will do our utmost to make Seocho a great place for young people to live by systematically advancing various youth policies in areas such as housing, employment, and culture."
