Nowon District to Host ‘2025 Dancing Nowon’ Around Nowon Station on September 20-21

A 555-Meter Stretch Around Nowon Station Transformed Into a Grand Stage
Featuring Poppin Hyunjoon, La Classe, Nucksal, and More

Nowon District in Seoul (District Mayor Oh Seungrok) will host the ‘2025 Dancing Nowon Street Festival’ around Nowon Station from September 20 to 21.

‘Dancing Nowon’ is Nowon’s signature street festival, which drew over 170,000 participants last year and concluded successfully. Having been revamped after a decade, the festival is now in its third year. It will take place along a 555-meter stretch from KB Kookmin Bank at Nowon Station to Lotte Department Store and Sunbokkeum Church.

This year’s festival theme is ‘A Dancing City, A Breathing Earth,’ featuring a variety of programs where environment and art coexist. There will be street parades, performances, and hands-on activities for all ages. Over two days, 75 teams-including university, general, children, and youth groups-will participate in the ‘Dancing Parade.’

There will be specialized fields for technicians and themed fields focusing on environmental, recycling, and carbon neutrality messages. Three international teams from Poland, Italy, and Montenegro have also been invited to perform.

The opening ceremony will feature a large-scale flash mob and choir with over 2,000 local residents. Director Poppin Hyunjoon will oversee the overall production, and on the first day, he will be joined by rapper Nucksal, the female dance crew HolyBang, and the popera group La Classe for spectacular performances. On the second day, Kim Wansun, Jay Black, and Aaron Crew will take the stage.

The Dancing Theme Zone will host dynamic programs such as the B-boy battle ‘B-ON TOP,’ random play dance, and the Youth Choreo Festa, a creative dance competition for teenagers. The Family Theme Zone will offer performances and experience booths for families, including EBS musicals, children’s musicals, bubble shows, and drawing circuses.

The Healing Rest Area will feature craft beer breweries, food trucks, and youth brands, offering food and a flea market, while the Pop Art Zone will present a live painting show by graffiti artist Alttime Joe and a festival photo zone.

Oh Seungrok, Mayor of Nowon District, stated, “The 2025 Dancing Nowon Street Festival combines dance and the environment to create a new value that everyone can relate to.
