The Sehan University Taekwondo Department brought home a large number of medals in the sparring and poomsae categories at the national competition. It is being praised for further elevating the status of Taekwondo in Jeonnam Province.
The Jeonnam Provincial Sports Council and Sehan University announced on September 7 that they achieved remarkable results at the 48th Korea University Taekwondo Federation President's Cup National Taekwondo Competition, which concluded on September 3 in Gochang, Jeonbuk, by winning three silver medals and two bronze medals.
In the sparring category, Jae-Hong Bae (senior, 1st group under 63kg), Beom-Jin Bae (freshman, 2nd group under 74kg), and in poomsae, Junhui Ji (senior) each won silver medals. In poomsae, Hanhyung Kim and Min Han (both juniors) each took home bronze medals.
Song Jin-ho, President of the Jeonnam Provincial Sports Council, stated, "I am very proud of the Sehan University Taekwondo Department athletes who earned valuable medals at the national competition," adding, "We will spare no effort in supporting the athletes so they can continue to perform at their best."
Choi Gong-jib, Head of the Sehan University Taekwondo Department, said, "I am very happy and proud that our students have achieved such excellent results," and pledged, "We will do our utmost in preparation to achieve outstanding results at the upcoming 106th National Sports Festival."
