Early Admission Applications Accepted from September 8 to 12
Changwon National University will conduct its early admission process for the 2026 academic year from September 8 to September 12.
This March, Changwon National University opened the Sacheon Aerospace Campus. In June, it received approval to merge with Gyeongnam Provincial Geochang College and Gyeongnam Provincial Namhae College. As a result, the university is preparing to enter the era of four campuses-Changwon, Sacheon, Geochang, and Namhae-starting in March 2026.
For the 2026 academic year admissions, the Changwon and Sacheon campuses will select 1,658 students, which is 86.5% of the total 1,916 students, through the early admission process.
Among the early admissions, 453 students will be selected through the Academic Excellence Track based on school records, and 328 students will be selected through the Glocal Talent Track.
The university also plans to select 394 students through the Comprehensive School Records Regional Talent Track for students from Busan, Ulsan, and the Gyeongnam region; 173 students through the Field-Fit Talent Track; and 355 students through 11 other various tracks.
The selection method for the School Records Track is based 100% on academic grades.
For first-year students, all subjects in Korean, mathematics, English, social studies, and science are considered. For second- and third-year students, all subjects in Korean, mathematics, English, and social studies (for humanities and social sciences) or science (for natural sciences) are considered.
For the Sarim Honors School (Undeclared Major), all subjects in Korean, mathematics, English, social studies, and science from first to third year are included.
The Field-Fit Talent Track in the Comprehensive School Records admissions consists of a two-step process: a document review in the first stage and an interview in the second stage. Students are selected through a qualitative comprehensive evaluation based on their school records, followed by an interview.
The Regional Talent Track in the Comprehensive School Records admissions is conducted without an interview. It is based solely on document review, consisting of a quantitative evaluation (50%) of academic grades and a qualitative evaluation (50%) of extracurricular activities.
Applicants may apply up to six times in the early admission process at Changwon National University, including the Geochang Campus, Namhae Campus, other universities, and overseas Koreans.
The Undeclared Major Program guarantees full freedom of choice for all departments when advancing to the second year in the Sarim Honors School. There are also Undeclared Major Programs in the humanities, social sciences, business, and engineering, where students can choose only among departments affiliated with the respective college.
However, students can choose only from departments not excluded from selection by the Undeclared Major Program.
Within the Glocal Advanced Science and Technology College (GAST), students in the Interdisciplinary Science Division and the Interdisciplinary Engineering Division enter without a declared major or department and can choose their major when advancing to the second year.
In the Interdisciplinary Science Division, students can choose from Mathematical Sciences, Semiconductor Physics, or Energy Chemistry in the Department of Basic Sciences; Life Sciences, Microbial Biotechnology, or Life and Health Sciences in the Department of Advanced Biosciences.
In the Interdisciplinary Engineering Division, students can choose from Smart Mobility Mechanical Engineering or Smart Energy Mechanical Engineering in the Department of Mechanical Engineering; Energy Chemical Engineering; Meta-Integrated Content in the Department of Meta-Integrated Content; Artificial Intelligence Convergence Engineering; or Electrical Engineering.
The university also offers customized tracks for working professionals and adult learners, such as the Lifelong Learner Track, Adult Learner Track, Employed Person Track, and the Specialized High School Graduate Employed Person Track. These tracks allow students to enter university without the CSAT, and classes are held in the evenings and on weekends.
The Geochang Campus will select 340 students through early admissions, including 321 students through the Professional Talent Track (60% academic grades, 40% interview) and 19 students through three tracks, including the Adult Learner Track.
The Namhae Campus will select 350 students through early admissions, including 297 students through the Professional Talent Track (60% academic grades, 40% interview) and 53 students through six tracks, including the Adult Learner Track.
Details on each early admission track for the 2026 academic year at Changwon National University can be found on the admissions website or by contacting the university's admissions office.
