Kakao Pay Offers 10% Discount on Airbnb Bookings...First Among Korean Payment Companies

This promotion will run from today until October 31 for users planning trips ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

First-time Airbnb users can receive an instant 10% discount (up to 50,000 won) on their booking fee when paying 200,000 won or more with Kakao Pay. The discounted accommodation must begin by November 30.

Kakao Pay has incorporated its data-driven marketing capabilities into this promotion. The company plans to identify potential customers who have payment histories in the airline and travel sectors but have not yet used Airbnb, and provide them with tailored benefits.

Kakao Pay currently has more than 40 million users, the largest number of MyData subscribers among lifestyle financial platforms. By analyzing the payment and financial data of users who have consented to information use, Kakao Pay can deliver highly personalized services.

Meanwhile, Airbnb is proposing the "Ten Days of Chuseok Living" campaign for Korean travelers during Chuseok, encouraging them to experience living like locals in long-haul destinations such as France or Italy.

By selecting Kakao Pay as the payment method during the reservation process, users can conveniently pay with Kakao Pay Money or a registered card and receive the associated benefits.
