Sejong City Offers Opportunity for Citizens to Address Questions with Infectious Disease Experts

On September 19, a "Communication Forum with Infectious Disease Experts" will be held on the 4th floor of the Grand Performance Hall at the Jochiwon Haengbok Nureumteo (Complex Community Center).

According to the Sejong Infectious Disease Management Support Group, a special lecture will be given on infectious disease prevention, a topic that citizens are often curious about. The Sejong Infectious Disease Management Support Group was established in August 2020 to support region-specific infectious disease prevention and management. The group is composed of infectious disease experts, including Director Kim Sungmin, a professor, and several researchers.

Kim Jeongok, a professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases at Sejong Chungnam National University Hospital, will give a lecture on "Reaching 100 Years of Age with Vaccinations." Following this, Director Kim Sungmin, who also works at the same hospital, will share "Smart Tips for Preventing Infectious Diseases During Overseas Travel," focusing on essential prevention guidelines for those traveling abroad.

After the special lectures, there will be a Q&A session titled "Ask Anything," featuring Director Kim and other infectious disease experts to address citizens' questions. The Communication Forum is free of charge and will accept the first 100 Sejong City residents on a first-come, first-served basis. Those wishing to participate can apply by phone to the Infectious Disease Management Support Group.

Director Kim Sungmin stated, "This will be an opportunity to address a variety of questions from citizens about adult vaccinations and methods for preventing infectious diseases during overseas travel," adding, "As this is a valuable and free event, we hope for the interest and participation of many citizens."
