Yangju City Demonstrates Medical Drone Delivery at Armed Forces Yangju Hospital, Launches Full-Scale Collaboration Yangju City recently held a medical drone delivery demonstration event at the Armed Forces Yangju Hospital, conducting a demonstration for the rapid supply of blood and pharmaceuticals in collaboration with the Armed Forces Yangju Hospital, the Korean Red Cross Eastern Blood Center, and BCD ENC Co., Ltd. Provided by Yangju City

This partnership was established as the Armed Forces Yangju Hospital has continuously emphasized the need for rapid blood supply in emergency and wartime situations, and as Yangju City and BCD ENC Co., Ltd. have accumulated technological expertise through a drone delivery demonstration project since 2024.

During the demonstration, participants discussed ways to utilize drones for the rapid supply of blood and pharmaceuticals, as well as the potential for commercialization. The event included a presentation on the current state of drone delivery technology and a live demonstration, confirming the potential of drones in the medical field.

The Armed Forces Yangju Hospital announced a detailed operational plan for rapidly supplying blood in emergencies such as military training exercises. The Korean Red Cross Eastern Blood Center provided expert advice on specialized storage and operational methods to maintain the stability of blood during drone transportation.

BCD ENC Co., Ltd. presented the current status of the drone delivery demonstration project, including the technical specifications such as the drones' flight range and payload capacity. Yangju City explained its future vision based on municipal policy infrastructure, including the Drone Special Free Zone.

An official from the Armed Forces Yangju Hospital stated, "Rapid blood supply is crucial for protecting the golden hour and saving the lives of both military personnel and local residents. If this drone delivery system is established, it will enable more reliable medical services in any emergency situation."

Yangju City expects this project to achieve results in various areas, including addressing gaps in emergency medical services, establishing an urgent transport system for blood and pharmaceuticals, and strengthening disaster response capabilities. In addition, by linking with the recently opened Dronebot Talent Training Center, the city anticipates fostering drone professionals and revitalizing the industry.

An official from Yangju City commented, "This demonstration is highly significant as it brought together the expertise of the private sector, public institutions, and the military for a common goal. Based on the discussions held, we will promptly sign a business agreement and implement the demonstration project, making Yangju City a leader in protecting citizens' lives and advancing cutting-edge industries."
