Cheongdo County Prepares for First "2025 Cheongdo National Heritage Night" Event... Opening on the 19th

Cheongdo County (Governor Kim Hasu) announced on September 2 that it has been selected for the National Heritage Night project, a public contest by the National Heritage Administration, and is preparing for the "2025 Cheongdo National Heritage Night" event.

The National Heritage Night project, which will be held over two days from September 19 to 20 in the area surrounding Cheongdo Eupseong Fortress, is a program that connects the region's concentrated cultural heritage with nearby cultural facilities to provide a unique nighttime cultural experience.

Cheongdo Eupseong Fortress is a rare historical site where six national heritage items remain, including the Treasure Seokbinggo Ice Storage, the Gyeongsangbuk-do designated cultural heritage guesthouse building Dojugwan, Cheongdo Dongheon, Cheongdo Hyanggyo, and the Cheongdo Cheokhwabi Monument. This is the first time a large-scale nighttime cultural experience event will be held here, drawing significant attention.

Cheongdo County is preparing distinctive programs under the theme of "Seven Nights" (Night Scenery, Night Road, Night History, Night Painting, Night Story, Night Food, Night Market). The event's subtitle, "Walking the Fortress, A Scholar's Moonlight Stroll," reflects Cheongdo's identity as the home of scholars and is planned under the concept of "Scholars Out for a Night Stroll."

The event will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., with the opening ceremony, preceded by a pre-show, taking place at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 19.

For this inaugural Night Heritage event, Cheongdo County plans to illuminate the night at Cheongdo Eupseong Fortress with a dazzling array of lights, including nighttime media facade displays and a Cheongsachorong lantern tunnel.

Kim Hasu, Governor of Cheongdo County, said, "Through this event, which is being held for the first time in our county, we aim to create new added value by converging various historical and cultural content centered on our cultural heritage. We also expect it to help Cheongdo grow as a stay-type nighttime tourist destination, greatly contributing to revitalizing our tourism industry and economy."
