Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital Signs Agreement to Promote Mental Health of Cancer Survivors

Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital is operating customized counseling and educational programs to support the psychological and emotional stability of cancer survivors.

The Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Cancer Survivor Integrated Support Center at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital announced on September 1 that it recently signed a business agreement with the Gwangju Mental Health Welfare Center to promote the mental health of cancer survivors in the Gwangju area.

Through this agreement, the two institutions plan to jointly implement the "Mental Health Counseling Program," focusing on counseling and program connections and operations for cancer survivors, support with mental health professionals and resources, and activities to raise awareness about mental health.

Yoo Seunghyung, head of the center, stated, "Through this collaboration, we will provide better mental health services to cancer survivors," adding, "We will establish various support processes, such as training to strengthen the capabilities of practitioners, to help improve the mental health of cancer survivors."

Choi Yuri, head of the center, said, "It is necessary to actively address emotional issues such as depression and anxiety among cancer survivors," and added, "We will continue to share practical support measures and maintain ongoing cooperation."
