From September 3 to 6, Daegu City will host the 25th Daegu International Food Industry Exhibition, the largest comprehensive food industry exhibition outside the Seoul metropolitan area, at the EXCO West Hall Exhibition Center.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the Daegu International Food Industry Exhibition is a specialized event that offers a comprehensive overview of the latest trends and information in the food industry. It is held annually to support domestic and international market expansion and boost exports for food companies.
This year’s exhibition will feature 225 companies from the food and related industries (such as food machinery and catering equipment), operating a total of 426 booths.
Notably, 22 overseas food companies are participating for the first time this year, and more than 70 overseas buyers-the largest number ever-have been invited. This is expected to further enhance the global market achievements of domestic food companies.
Exhibition Halls 1 and 2 will showcase a wide variety of food products, including processed foods, agricultural, marine, and livestock specialties, international foods, alcoholic beverages, and drinks, as well as related industry products such as food machinery, packaging equipment, and catering devices, offering a rich experience for attendees.
In Hall 3, an export consultation meeting with overseas buyers will be held on September 3 and 4. This session will see participation from buyers representing more than 70 companies from 20 countries, including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The event will provide a one-stop support system, including one-on-one pre-matching with high-performing buyers, interpretation services, and follow-up management, to ensure highly effective export consultations.
At last year’s event, 19 domestic buyers and 54 overseas buyers participated, holding consultations with a total of 90 exhibiting companies and achieving consultation results worth 119.7 billion won. With the increased participation of overseas buyers this year, even greater results are anticipated.
Additionally, the trade company export consultation meeting, newly introduced this year and scheduled for September 5, will involve 25 trading companies. They will provide tailored consultations, including product analysis for each company, export agency services, buyer matching, and local marketing strategies, as well as practical consulting to address challenges in the export process.
A variety of side events will also be held. On September 3, a "U.S. FDA Response Strategy Seminar" will be offered for food companies, and on September 4 and 5, a "Nutrition Meal Seminar" for school nutrition teachers will take place. These specialized seminars, tailored to the needs of key stakeholders, will share the latest industry trends and regulatory updates, further strengthening the food industry network.
The exhibition will be open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and free admission is available through online pre-registration or on-site registration.
Hong Sungjoo, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs of Daegu City, stated, "We have thoroughly prepared to ensure that the Daegu International Food Industry Exhibition secures its place as the largest food industry exhibition outside the Seoul metropolitan area," adding, "We will actively support food companies so they can enhance their competitiveness in domestic and international markets and receive practical assistance in expanding exports."
