Baekgulbi and Okduo... Emart Offers New Chuseok Seafood Gift Sets at Up to Half Price Jeju Okduo Gift Set. Provided by Emart

For the first time this Chuseok, Emart has launched the “Baekgulbi Gift Set” made with “Baekjogi” (white croaker) as its main ingredient. Due to the recent decline in the catch of yellow croaker, the main ingredient for traditional gulbi, and the resulting continuous price increases, Emart has carefully selected only the freshest white croaker to create the Baekgulbi Gift Set using the “Seopgan” salting method (a technique that uses sun-dried sea salt with the brine removed to extract moisture and achieve the perfect seasoning) and drying process. This new gift set is being sold at less than half the price of the traditional gulbi gift sets.

The “Premium Yeonggwang Baekgulbi Set No. 2” (10 fish, approximately 1.8kg, frozen), made with domestic white croaker and domestic sun-dried sea salt, is available for 49,440 won during the pre-order period when purchased with an event card. In comparison, the “Premium Yeonggwang Chamgulbi Set No. 1” (10 fish, approximately 1kg, frozen) is being sold for 108,000 won during the pre-order event, making the new set larger in size but less than half the price.

Emart is also introducing, for the first time, the “Jeju Okduo Gift Set,” featuring Okduo, a fish caught in the pristine waters of Jeju that offers a similar taste and appearance to Okdom, one of Jeju’s premium fish, but at more than 30% lower in price. The flagship product, “Jeju Okduo Set No. 1” (approximately 1.35kg, 3 fish), is available for 71,840 won during the pre-order event with an event card. Additionally, customers who purchase nine sets will receive one extra set as part of a promotional offer.

In addition, Emart has doubled the supply of its “Premium Okdom Set” (1kg, 8 fish), a cost-effective gift set priced under 100,000 won and made up of smaller Okdom, compared to last year’s Chuseok season. It is being offered at a 30% discount for 59,430 won during the pre-order period with an event card. All of these products are also available for purchase on SSG.com Emart Mall.

Lee Sanghoon, seafood buyer at Emart, stated, “This year, we are expanding our range of cost-effective seafood gift sets so that customers can purchase seafood gifts at reasonable prices.” He added, “In addition to our existing gift sets, we have strengthened both our premium and cost-effective offerings by expanding our premium direct-from-origin delivery sets and introducing new cost-effective seafood sets.”
