Over the weekend, Gwangju and Jeonnam will generally experience hot and cloudy weather, with daytime temperatures rising to around 30 degrees Celsius and some areas seeing showers and rain.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, on August 30, showers are expected due to the influence of the North Pacific High located over the southern seas of Japan. The expected precipitation is between 5 and 30 millimeters, with morning lows forecast at 23 degrees Celsius and daytime highs reaching up to 35 degrees Celsius.
On August 31, the region will be on the edge of the North Pacific High as it moves southeast over the southern seas of Japan. Morning lows are forecast to range from 23 to 26 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs are expected to be between 30 and 33 degrees Celsius. Rain is expected in some areas between 9 a.m. and noon, and again between 9 p.m. and midnight, with anticipated precipitation ranging from 5 to 40 millimeters.
An official from the Meteorological Administration stated, "Temperatures are expected to remain higher than average for the time being," and advised, "To prevent heat-related illnesses, please stay hydrated frequently and refrain from prolonged farming or working alone for extended periods."
