On August 29, the Sinan County Council in South Jeolla Province conducted a "capacity-building training" session for its members and staff at Hotel Hyundai by Lahan Mokpo, aiming to enhance their expertise and strengthen legislative capabilities.
This training focused on legally mandated education to improve social awareness of disabilities and on prevention of the four major types of violence (sexual harassment, prostitution, sexual violence, and domestic violence). Participants learned about ways to address social discrimination against people with disabilities and studied various cases to understand prevention and response measures for violence.
Lee Sangjoo, Chairperson of the Sinan County Council, stated, "This training will serve as an opportunity to enhance the individual capabilities of both members and staff," adding, "We will continue to build a more trusted council for our residents through ongoing self-development and learning."
The council plans to regularly conduct capacity-building training in the future to realize resident-centered legislative activities and to proactively respond to the changing environment.
