Electronic project group Humming Urban Stereo (HUS) will release their new EP 'MOOSA' on September 4 at 6:00 p.m., marking the 20th anniversary of their debut.
Since 2004, Humming Urban Stereo has represented the Korean electronic music scene with hits such as 'Hawaiian Couple,' 'Insomnia,' 'Salad Anniversary,' and 'Banana Shake.' With this new album, the group combines the nostalgic vibe of their early days with sophisticated contemporary sounds, presenting a musical point that bridges the past and the present.
This EP consists of a total of five tracks. The opening track, 'BBB (Feat. Chuu),' creates a bright and cheerful mood by layering Chuu's clear and lovely vocals over a two-step rhythm. The following track, 'BONCOURA (Feat. NAGOMI of MADEIN),' is a bossa nova house song inspired by a Japanese word meaning 'fool' and by travels in Japan. Nagomi, a member of the rookie idol group MADEIN, participates as the vocalist, bringing fresh energy to the track.
The title track 'MOOSA (Feat. Penomeco)' features powerful lyrics such as "A sword that has lost its softness is just a blade; having lost you, I am a warrior who only slices radishes." The combination of Lee Jilin's vocals and Penomeco's rap marks a new turning point in the HUS sound.
Other tracks include 'Tteji (Feat. Risso),' which is based on UK garage sounds, and 'Aya (Feat. Sugarflow, YeSLow),' a drum and bass track featuring members of Instant Romantic Floor, who have reunited after 13 years. The EP offers a diverse listening experience with its variety of genres and styles.
A representative from the agency stated, "'MOOSA' is not just a commemorative album, but a record that encapsulates both the 20-year journey of Humming Urban Stereo and their new direction for the future. It will evoke nostalgia for longtime fans while providing a fresh sensibility for new listeners."
Humming Urban Stereo's EP 'MOOSA' will be released on all online music platforms from 6:00 p.m. on September 4, and a limited edition vinyl will also be available.
