Ryder Cup to Begin September 26 at Bethpage, New York

A big name is missing from this year's Ryder Cup U.S. team.

On August 27 (local time), Keegan Bradley, the captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup team, announced six captain's picks who will compete in the Ryder Cup, a golf tournament against Europe. Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Ben Griffin, Cameron Young, Patrick Cantlay, and Sam Burns were selected. Together with the six players who had already secured automatic spots by ranking in the top six in selection points-Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Harris English, and Bryson DeChambeau-the 12-member roster is now complete.

On the other hand, some players missed out. Jordan Spieth, Brooks Koepka, Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, Rickie Fowler, Tony Finau, Max Homa, Maverick McNealy, and Chris Gotterup were not selected. Spieth had been a regular at the Ryder Cup, appearing in five consecutive tournaments through 2023. Although he returned to the field after undergoing wrist surgery in 2024, he failed to make the team this time. Brooks Koepka, known as a "major hunter" who moved to LIV Golf, was also left out. Koepka was the only LIV player to compete in the previous tournament.

This year's Ryder Cup will be held from September 26 for three days at the Black Course of Bethpage State Park in New York, United States.
