This career expo, held on a large scale for the first time in seven years since 2018, drew significant attention with the participation of over 2,200 middle school students from Goyang City, as well as more than 800 teachers, officials, and booth operators.

The expo took place across the first to third floors of the Baekseok Annex of Goyang Special City. The event was especially meaningful as it utilized previously vacant space, which had long been underused, providing students and citizens with a valuable hands-on experience without incurring rental costs.

A total of 82 career experience booths were operated at the expo, covering a wide range of fields from new industries such as aviation, drones, AI, and robotics, to lifestyle, culture, and creative sectors including baking and pastry, barista, floristry, and media art.

Notably, the results of the "Media Fantagy" project, linked to the Educational Development Special Zone initiative, were unveiled for the first time at this expo. The student-planned and produced media art screening offered citizens an accessible and engaging opportunity to witness the achievements of the Educational Development Special Zone project.

In his welcoming remarks, Mayor Lee Donghwan of Goyang Special City stated, "We will continue to create diverse educational environments so that each and every student can discover their own potential and design their future," adding, "I hope this expo will be a meaningful opportunity for students to directly experience various industries and professions as they prepare for their futures."

He went on to quote the renowned educator John Dewey, saying, "Education is not preparation for the future, but the creation of the future," and expressed his hope that "today's experiences will serve as a starting point for students to open the door to their creative futures."

Choi Hoejae, CEO of the Goyang Youth Foundation, who oversaw the practical operations of this expo, commented, "We did our best to provide a variety of hands-on opportunities to help students design their careers and futures," and added, "We will continue to offer diverse educational programs to support the growth of young people in the future."
