The Jeollanam-do Provincial Council will hold a full assembly training session for three days and two nights from the 27th to the 29th in the Busan area.
This training session will focus on strengthening solidarity among council members and enhancing the professionalism of legislative capabilities, in line with the slogan for the second half of the 12th term, "A Council That Works Well, A Jeollanam-do Provincial Council Worth Working For."
On the first day, ethics training will be provided by Kim Geoseong, former Senior Presidential Secretary for Civil Society, and a special lecture on the circular economy will be given by Professor Naju Mong of Chonnam National University, allowing council members to reinforce their sense of ethics as public officials and gain policy insight.
On the second day, members will broaden their policy perspectives through site visits to Tongdosa Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site; the National Assembly Busan Library, the only branch of the National Assembly Library in Korea; and the Busan Museum of Contemporary Art, a major center for modern art.
In particular, during the visit to the National Assembly Busan Library, the Jeollanam-do Provincial Council plans to donate about 120 books, each representing the unique history and culture of the 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do, creating a symbolic opportunity for mutual exchange between Yeongnam and Honam regions.
Chairman Kim Taekyun stated, "To address pressing issues such as the risk of regional extinction and the stagnation of the local economy, it is essential to strengthen both the expertise of council members and the capabilities of the organization." He added, "Through this training session, we will seek creative ideas and constructive alternatives, and demonstrate responsible legislative activities and a council that works well, worthy of the trust of our residents."
