Overwhelmingly Popular Ready Meals Upgraded After 50 Million Sold
Quality Enhanced with Premium Ingredients
On August 27, BGF Retail announced that its convenience store chain CU will launch the "Overwhelming Plus Ready Meal Series," an upgraded version of its overwhelmingly popular ready meals, which have sold over 50 million units cumulatively.
The new product lineup consists of 16 items in total. While maintaining the same price, the weight has been increased by up to 50% compared to similar products, and premium ingredients such as Jeju black pork, fresh bread, and 100% pork ham have been used.
For example, the Bulgogi Kimchi and Spicy Pork Set Lunch Boxes (each 5,900 won) feature toppings that allow customers to enjoy two different menus in a single lunch box. The Bulgogi Kimchi Lunch Box includes kimchi fried rice with a fried egg, garlic oil pasta, and sweet and savory bulgogi, while the Spicy Pork Set Lunch Box offers egg fried rice with grilled ham, Shanghai-style pasta, and a generous serving of spicy and sweet stir-fried pork.
Within the rice ball and gimbap lineup, the Ham Tuna and Beef Triangle Gimbap (each 1,500 won) are now double the weight of previous versions while keeping the same price. The Ham Cheese and Five-Color Vegetable Gimbap (each 3,500 won) have increased from eight to twelve pieces. The Black Pork Soy Sauce and Black Pork Stir-Fried Triangle Gimbap (each 1,900 won) use Jeju black pork to achieve premium quality.
The Shrimp Sandwich and Katsu Sandwich (each 3,900 won) feature crispy fried shrimp and pork cutlet on soft and chewy fresh bread with whipped cream, enhancing quality. The Packed Beef Hamburger (4,200 won) increases the patty weight by 150%, using 98% Australian grass-fed beef.
Additionally, single-serve lunch box items such as Carbonara and Arrabbiata Pasta (each 5,900 won), as well as Garlic Chicken, Pizza Chicken, and Yuringi (each 9,900 won), are being introduced as convenient meal or snack options. To celebrate the launch of the Overwhelming Plus Series, an additional discount event will be held next month.
