Held Alongside the Firefly Festival
40 Winners to Be Selected
Muju County in North Jeolla Province announced on August 27 that it will hold a Hometown Love Donation Event in conjunction with the 29th Muju Firefly Festival until September 14.
This event aims to promote a healthy donation culture and express gratitude to donors. During the event period, donors who contribute at least 100,000 won to Muju and select a return gift will be entered into a drawing, with 40 winners (to be notified individually) selected.
The winners will receive either Muju's signature local specialty, apples, or candied bellflower root, chosen at random. Further details are available on the Muju County website, official social media channels, and Hometown Love e-Eum. Donations under the Hometown Love program can be made online (via Hometown Love e-Eum or Wellro) or in person at NH Nonghyup Bank branches nationwide, with a limit of 20 million won per person.
Bae Jeomok, head of the Hometown Love Team in the Autonomy and Administration Division of Muju County, stated, "If you donate to Muju, you can also receive an exploration pass to see live fireflies during the Firefly Festival as a return gift," adding, "We encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to donate, see the fireflies, and receive Muju's local specialties as a bonus."
Currently, there are 72 types of return gifts for Muju County's Hometown Love Donation program, including: hometown re-donation vouchers (outing passes, village party hosting services, home appliance and furniture vouchers, etc.); tourism services (photo and video shooting passes, surfing experience passes, Muju Meoru Wine Cave passes, Taekwondo Adventure passes, etc.); agricultural and livestock products (walnuts, Shine Muscat grapes, mixed grain sets, rice, etc.); and processed foods (scorched rice, jams, fruit beverages, processed Gastrodia elata products, etc.).
