[Tomorrow's Weather] Rain Ends, Heat Returns... Seoul's High Reaches 32 Degrees Yonhap News Agency

On this day, South Korea will be situated on the edge of a high-pressure system moving from northeastern China toward the East Sea, bringing easterly winds. As a result, the Yeongseo region will experience intense heat, with midday apparent temperatures reaching around 33 degrees Celsius. When easterly winds blow into the country, temperatures rise on the western side of the Baekdudaegan mountain range. This is because as the wind crosses the mountains, it becomes warmer and drier.

Heatwave advisories are expected to be reissued in some areas. Currently, heatwave advisories are in effect for the Yeongnam region, excluding northern North Gyeongsang Province, and for Jeju Island, except for Hallasan. All heatwave advisories in the central region have been lifted.

On August 27, the nationwide morning low temperatures will range from 20 to 25 degrees Celsius, and the afternoon highs will range from 28 to 35 degrees Celsius. The predicted lows and highs for major cities are as follows: Seoul and Gwangju (24 to 32 degrees), Incheon (24 to 30 degrees), Daejeon (23 to 32 degrees), Daegu (24 to 33 degrees), Ulsan (24 to 31 degrees), and Busan (25 to 31 degrees).

In Yeongdong, Gangwon Province, which is directly affected by the easterly winds, the midday apparent temperature is expected to remain below 30 degrees Celsius. In the Yeongdong region, the high in Gangneung will be 30 degrees, Samcheok 29 degrees, Sokcho, Goseong, and Donghae 28 degrees, and Taebaek 27 degrees.

Due to the rain and increased moisture in the atmosphere, thick fog is expected from the early morning to morning hours on August 27 in eastern Gyeonggi Province, inland Chungcheong, and the Honam region. Visibility may drop to less than 200 meters because of the fog.

On bridges over the sea, such as Cheonsa Bridge, the fog may be even thicker, so caution is advised when crossing.

Rainfall of about 5 to 10 millimeters is expected in the northeastern mountainous areas of North Gyeongsang Province and the northern East Coast of North Gyeongsang Province. Showers of 5 to 20 millimeters are also expected around the same time in northern North Chungcheong, central inland South Gyeongsang, and Jeju Island.

In the outer offshore areas of the central East Sea and the northern part of the southern East Sea, where a high seas warning is in effect, strong winds of 30 to 60 kilometers per hour (9 to 16 meters per second) and high waves of 1.5 to 3.5 meters are expected until the early morning of August 27.
