Average Daily Visitors Up 56% Year-on-Year
New Family-Friendly Water Playground Draws Enthusiastic Response from All Age Groups
Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on August 26 that its 2025 outdoor water playground, which operated for 24 days starting from July 25, concluded its operations on August 17 with enthusiastic support from citizens.
This summer, Paju City established a new family-friendly water playground in addition to the existing two children's water playgrounds in Unjeong and Munsan, creating a space where people of all ages could enjoy together. Thanks to this differentiated approach, a total of 23,854 visitors came over the 24-day period, resulting in a 56% increase in the average daily number of users compared to the previous year.
To ensure a safe and pleasant water recreation environment, the city implemented a comprehensive safety and convenience-focused management system, including the constant presence of safety personnel, thorough water quality control, and the expansion of shelters to respond to heat waves, allowing all citizens to use the facilities with peace of mind.
In particular, the newly introduced Unjeong Family Water Playground, unveiled for the first time this year, solidified its status as an urban summer retreat by offering a variety of play facilities and relaxation spaces for not only children and youth but also parents to enjoy together.
Kim Kyoungil, Mayor of Paju, stated, "During this exceptionally hot summer, the outdoor water playground, operated in line with the expectations of our citizens, has become a popular summer destination, attracting more than 23,000 visitors. We will continue to expand lifestyle leisure infrastructure that citizens can truly experience and enjoy."
