Performance at Gimpo Art Hall on September 27
A Profound Resonance Beyond Boundaries Awaits
The Gimpo Cultural Foundation (CEO Lee Gyehyun) announced on August 26 that it will host the Gyeonggi Rivera Orchestra invitation concert, "Barrier Free: Prism," at Gimpo Art Hall on September 27 at 3:00 p.m.
This concert is designed to spread the diverse artistic talents of various artists with disabilities across the stage as beautifully and harmoniously as the radiant light refracted through a prism (PRISM). The goal is to establish barrier-free (Barrier Free) as a natural cultural ism.
Organized in collaboration with the Gyeonggi Arts Center, the performance will feature conductor Park Sungho and cellist Park Jinwoo. The Gyeonggi Rivera Orchestra, the nation’s first local government-sponsored orchestra for nurturing artists with disabilities, will deliver a deeply moving performance that transcends the boundaries between disability and art.
The program consists of two parts: ▲ Part 1 will feature popular classical pieces such as the overture from Mozart’s opera "The Marriage of Figaro." ▲ Part 2 will include famous film music, such as the soundtrack from "Pirates of the Caribbean" and a medley from "The Sound of Music."
Notably, this is the first time a Gimpo Art Hall planned performance will be presented as a Barrier Free & Relaxed Performance. Audience lighting will be adjusted to be 20-30% brighter than usual, and sensory responses such as special sounds and movements will be accommodated. Consumption of food for medical purposes will be allowed, and braille and NFC audio guide leaflets will be provided for visually impaired guests. The event aims to enhance accessibility and create a comfortable atmosphere for a diverse audience.

To make the event even more meaningful, 150 guests from disability-related organizations in Gimpo will be invited to attend free of charge. Additionally, staff and donors from these organizations who present proof such as a business card or donation certificate will be eligible for the "Prism Discount," which offers up to 50% off tickets.
Tickets can be reserved from 2:00 p.m. on August 26 through the Gimpo Cultural Foundation website or NOL Ticket (Interpark). All seats are priced at 10,000 won, and the concert is open to guests aged seven and above.
Lee Gyehyun, CEO of the Gimpo Cultural Foundation, stated, "Through this concert, I hope that a performance culture where anyone can enjoy the arts without discrimination, transcending the boundaries between those with and without disabilities, will spread and become a new cultural trend. I also hope everyone will experience a moving moment that goes beyond all boundaries of disability and art, accompanied by beautiful music in a comfortable atmosphere."
