Three Major Department Stores Begin Pre-Orders for Chuseok Gift Sets

The three major department stores have begun pre-orders for Chuseok gift sets.

Lotte Department Store will launch pre-orders for Chuseok gifts at all of its branches for 17 days, from August 29 to September 14. During this pre-order period, a total of around 170 items will be offered at discounts of up to 50% off the regular price. The product lineup includes about 60 types of fresh foods such as meat, fruit, and seafood; 40 types of health foods; 15 types of alcoholic beverages; and 60 types of processed foods. For high-demand items such as Korean beef, seafood, and fruit, the supply has been increased by approximately 10% to 20%.

For meat gifts, Lotte is introducing a Korean beef set with a reduced base weight from 2kg to 1.6kg. Notable products include the "Korean Beef & Truffle Omakase GIFT" (0.9kg, 224,000 won), the "Royal Korean Beef Roast GIFT" (1.6kg, 368,000 won) featuring popular 1+ grade grilling cuts, and the "Special Korean Beef Steak GIFT" (384,000 won) consisting of four premium 1+ grade cuts.

In addition, the seafood gift sets are focused on practical options in the 100,000 to 200,000 won range. Representative products include the "Yeonggwang Beopseongpo Dried Yellow Croaker GIFT Wol(Month)" (200,000 won) and the "Wando Live Abalone Happiness GIFT" (120,000 won). For fruit gift sets, there is the "Lepiseri Apple & Pear GIFT" (124,000 won), the "Lepiseri Apple, Pear & Shine Muscat GIFT" (140,000 won) which includes Shine Muscat grapes, and, for the first time, the "Today Shine, Apple & Pear GIFT" (144,000 won) featuring Dahong apples and Royal Vine grapes together.

Shinsegae Department Store will also begin pre-orders for Chuseok gift sets from August 26 to September 14. Shinsegae has prepared about 50,000 sets for pre-order, which is an increase of around 10% compared to last Chuseok. The pre-order selection includes 57 agricultural products such as apples, pears, and dried persimmons; 36 meat products including Korean beef; 32 seafood items such as hairtail and abalone; 28 health and tea products; and 30 types of wine, totaling around 300 varieties. Key discount rates for pre-order items include 5-10% off Korean beef, which is the most popular holiday item, 29% off dried yellow croaker, 10% off fruit, 60% off wine, and 55% off health foods.

Featured pre-order items include the Yoon Haeundae Galbi Set (270,000 won), made from 1+ grade Korean beef ribs, and the Marinated Soy Sauce Crab Set (135,000 won) from the Korean-style sushi restaurant Kim Susa. For fruit, the scale of the "Select Farm" (designated production area) program has been expanded by 20% compared to last Chuseok, and direct transactions have reduced price burdens. Representative products include the Select Farm Apple & Pear Set (130,000 to 140,000 won) and the Select Farm Mungyeong Apple (117,000 won). For meat, key offerings include the Shinsegae Female Korean Beef Grill Special (204,600 won), Shinsegae Female Korean Beef Steak (409,200 won), and Shinsegae Female Korean Beef Soobok (167,400 won).

Hyundai Department Store will conduct a 20-day pre-order sale from August 27 to September 15. This event will be held simultaneously at all stores nationwide, including the Apgujeong Main Branch. The official online mall "The Hyundai.com" and Hyundai Home Shopping's official online mall "Hyundai H Mall" will also participate sequentially.

Taking into account the extended holiday period of up to 10 days, Hyundai Department Store has increased its pre-order inventory by about 20% compared to last year's Chuseok pre-order period. During the pre-order period, approximately 220 popular gift sets, including Korean beef, dried yellow croaker, fruit, health foods, and alcoholic beverages, will be offered at discounts of up to 30%.

For example, the "Hyundai Special Korean Beef Porridge Set" (360,000 won) will be sold at 340,000 won, the "Hyundai Premium Apple & Pear Set" (250,000 won) at 230,000 won, the "Hyundai Yeonggwang Premium Dried Yellow Croaker Porridge" (330,000 won) at 270,000 won, and the "Master Village Mibon Seon Set" (225,000 won) at 202,500 won.

Customers who purchase gift products through the online mall or mobile app during the pre-order period will receive special benefits. First, The Hyundai.com will offer coupons for up to 10% off to customers who purchase gift sets worth 50,000 won or more. An additional 5% discount will always be available for purchases made with a Hyundai Department Store Card. At Hyundai H Mall, a 10% discount coupon will be offered for orders of 10,000 won or more starting September 8.
