Muan County in South Jeolla Province announced on the 21st that it is operating the "Warmth Sharing On Day" program, which involves visiting village senior centers to provide safety and welfare services in support of the healthy daily lives and warm care of local seniors.
This program is a specialized initiative of the Muan County Volunteer Center. By regularly visiting village senior centers, it offers a variety of customized services, including traffic and fire safety education, hairdressing and beauty services, potted plant-making activities, and welfare counseling, all of which have received positive responses from seniors.
In particular, university student volunteer clubs from the local nursing and beauty departments, as well as talent-donating volunteers, are participating to help spread warmth in community care. One university student volunteer who participated in the activities shared, "It may be a small gesture, but seeing the seniors' bright smiles made me feel deeply rewarded."
Jang Youngsun, head of the Muan County Social Welfare Division, stated, "We will continue to promote resident-centered welfare services by linking various local resources," and added, "We will actively strive to ensure that all county residents can live in a warm and caring community."
Meanwhile, the Muan County Volunteer Center is operating a variety of programs to encourage greater resident participation. Those interested can apply through the 1365 Volunteer Portal.
