Suncheon City in South Jeolla Province (Mayor Noh Gwankyu) announced on August 22 that it had signed a business agreement with D-Origin Co., Ltd. on the previous day to relocate the company's headquarters, as part of full-fledged cooperation to transform Nammunteo Square into a content cluster.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mayor Noh Gwankyu, Jeong Jaesik, CEO of D-Origin Co., Ltd., film director Jo Minsu, and other key figures from the content industry, reaffirming their commitment to regional development.

The agreement includes mutual cooperation for fostering and revitalizing Suncheon's cultural content industry, contributing to the local economy through corporate relocation and support, and collaboration on talent development and administrative and financial assistance.

Under the agreement, D-Origin will relocate its headquarters to Nammunteo Square in Suncheon's original downtown area and will actively pursue IP production and regional cooperation projects encompassing webtoons, animation, and games. D-Origin, a content company recognized for its 'multi-usable strategy' that expands a single IP across multiple media, is expected to play a significant role in the development of Suncheon's cultural industry.

CEO Jeong Jaesik stated, "Just as Pixar created world-famous characters by using the city itself as a stage, I hope Suncheon can also become a character in its own right and grow into a cultural content hub that attracts global attention."

Mayor Noh Gwankyu emphasized, "The relocation of D-Origin's headquarters will be a decisive turning point for Suncheon to emerge as a city of cultural content. Through this agreement, we will firmly establish a content ecosystem in Suncheon that is recognized on the global stage."

Meanwhile, Suncheon City, in collaboration with D-Origin, plans to host the nation's largest game jam (game development event) incorporating AI technology at the Suncheon Global Webtoon Center from September 26 to 28.
