Tyler Rasch to Discuss the Value of Diversity
at Yeongju Character Academy on August 26
Yeongju City, North Gyeongsang Province, will hold the "August Yeongju Character Academy" at the Yeongju Culture and Arts Center on August 26 at 2:00 p.m.
This lecture will feature broadcast personality Tyler Rasch, who will take the stage and engage with citizens under the theme "Variety Beneath the Lamp."
He is recognized as a leading intellectual fluent in seven languages, having majored in International Politics at the University of Chicago and earned a master's degree in Diplomacy from Seoul National University Graduate School.
Tyler became known to the public through JTBC's "Non-Summit" and has since been active in various fields including broadcasting, lectures, and publishing. His book "There Is No Second Earth," which delivers a message on the environment and sustainability, became a bestseller.
In this lecture, he will highlight the "value of diversity" that enriches our society and share practical ways to incorporate it into everyday life.
Prior to the lecture, starting at 1:30 p.m., gugak singer Son Ji-hye will take the stage to energize the atmosphere with a fusion gugak performance that bridges tradition and modernity. Admission to the lecture is on a first-come, first-served basis and does not require prior registration.
Kim Hojung, Director of the Seonbi Talent Development Division of Yeongju City, stated, "We hope this lecture will serve as a starting point for a culture that respects and understands our differences," adding, "We will continue to provide humanities lectures that enrich the hearts of our citizens."
The Yeongju Character Academy will be held a total of 15 times this year to foster character development among citizens and expand lifelong learning opportunities. Next month, Korea's first profiler, Professor Kwon Ilyong, will give a lecture on the theme "Profiling and the Psychology of Healing Communication."
